I was one of the billions of people who awoke early to watch The Royal Wedding yesterday.  On a normal day, I have a very negative view of my alarm clock and waking up to start the day.  But not yesterday!  I didn’t push the snooze button a single time, and I was glued to the TV immediately!  Pesky chores like taking a shower, making coffee, and getting dressed irritated me greatly because I didn’t want to miss a single second of all the pomp and circumstance.   I should also note that my daughter was also fixated on the TV once I awoke her for the big event.

Kate was absolutely stunning.  She possesses elegance and grace that most of us can only dream of.  Prince William was handsome and regal, yet adorable and charming at the same time.  Every part of the wedding fascinated me, and I was agitated when I had to leave my TV and go to work.  Of course such a major event was the topic of many conversations at my school.  Many of my students wanted to know why I would watch such a thing?  The answer is quite simple.  What female — either young or old — doesn’t love a fairy tale?  This was the grandest of fairy tales, and it was LIVE for all of us to enjoy.

Easter Blessings to you all!

I hope you enjoy this day with family and friends.  But most of all, I hope you will take time to reflect on why we celebrate … God’s saving grace through his son, Jesus Christ!

Because it’s Earth Day, I find myself reflecting on all of the beauty found throughout God’s creation.  I have been lucky enough to travel some, although not nearly as much as I would like.  In doing so, I would have to say that the most spectacular place I’ve ever visited is Yellowstone National Park.  Established in 1872, it is the oldest national park, and I was fortunate to visit in 1995 when I finished my undergraduate degree at Clemson.

There are many beautiful places here in our neck of the woods.  My favorite spots include:

Jumping Off Rock

Jones Gap State Park

Caesar’s Head State Park

Table Rock State Park

Twin Falls

Remember to take time to enjoy and appreciate all of the beauty around you.  Consequently, it will make you a better steward of our environment and natural resources.

TV fluctuates regularly in terms of quality programming.  But, over the years there have been some unforgettable characters.  These are just a few of my favorites:

1) Dr. Sheldon Cooper (The Big Bang Theory) —  I love the entire cast, and I really love that the series revolves around science.   But, Sheldon is by far the most memorable because he is brilliant and neurotic at the same time … Bazzinga!

2) Cameron (Modern Family) — This comedy is extremely well-done, and I am happy they have received so many awards recently to affirm that fact.  Everything Cam does makes me laugh out loud!  He is both outrageous and supersensitive, and Eric Stonestreet plays the role perfectly.

3) George Costanza (Seinfeld) — This cast was collectively and individually amazing, and the series was completely original.  Nevertheless, George stands out with all his wacky quirkiness!

I absolutely LOVE movies, and I love discussing them with other people.  So, I want to know what is your favorite movie?  Give me a list of your top three to five and tell me what you love about them.  I want to know those movies that you have watched over and over again and can quote almost every line.
